The landscape of higher education in Haryana is undergoing a structural pivot. Geeta University (GU)<\/strong><\/a>, operating under the Haryana State Private University Act of 2006, has announced a comprehensive operational shift. The 40-acre campus, historically rooted in the Geeta Group of Institutions, is transitioning into what administration officials describe as an “AI-Enabled University”. This move aims to align traditional coursework with the demands of an increasingly automated workforce.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shift to Digital Governance<\/b><\/p>\n

Administration at the Panipat facility has deprecated manual record-keeping in favour of digital automation. A key component of this overhaul is the new attendance framework. The system syncs classroom presence directly with student records, removing manual tracking errors and providing real-time data visibility for faculty and parents.<\/span><\/p>\n

The digitisation extends to the “Smart Library,” which utilises search algorithms to locate research materials without requiring exact titles. Furthermore, a unified e-governance platform now manages student grievances\u2014categorising support tickets for IT or hostel maintenance to ensure accountability. Financial logistics have also been centralised; a single portal now handles fee receipts and scholarship status tracking.<\/span><\/p>\n

Breaking Disciplinary Silos<\/b><\/p>\n

Academically, GU has structured its offering across 11 diverse schools, ranging from Computer Science and Engineering to Agricultural Studies. However, the central academic reform is the implementation of a flexible Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS), branded as the “Design Your Own Degree” initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n

This model dismantles traditional disciplinary boundaries. Under the new “Passion Programs,” a student majoring in engineering can formally elect to study subjects like photography or music. The university\u2019s literature explicitly cites the practical utility of this approach, noting that culinary students can now study taxation to better handle the financial realities of the hospitality business.<\/span><\/p>\n

Employment and Industry Training<\/b><\/p>\n

Employment metrics remain a primary focus of the restructuring. Official data indicates the university has facilitated over 3,500 job offers<\/strong><\/a> through a network of 550+ recruiters. The current highest salary package stands at INR 40 LPA.<\/span><\/p>\n

To sustain these outcomes, the campus operates two specialised training wings. The Geeta Technical Hub (GTH) runs certification tracks with industry heavyweights like Cisco, Red Hat, and Amazon AWS to build hard technical skills. Parallel to this, the Geeta Finishing School (GFS) focuses on employability soft skills, conducting training in business communication and negotiation to prepare graduates for corporate integration.<\/span><\/p>\n

Global Reach and Accessibility<\/b><\/p>\n

The campus demographic has shifted to reflect a broader geographic reach, now hosting students and staff from 31 nations and 22 Indian states. Institutional partnerships have been formalised with global entities such as the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (Brazil) and Murdoch University (Australia) to facilitate student exchanges.<\/span><\/p>\n

Financially, the administration has earmarked a scholarship fund exceeding INR 24 Crores. Disbursements are regulated through the Geeta University Test of Scholarship (GUTS)<\/strong><\/a>, a standardised assessment allowing merit-based access to tuition waivers up to 100%.<\/span><\/p>\n

Physical Infrastructure<\/b><\/p>\n

Physical infrastructure supports this academic framework, with the Panipat site housing seven acres of sports facilities and residential hostels. The campus calendar remains active, regularly featuring industry experts and cultural figures like Raftaar to engage the student body. Ultimately, GU aims to fuse the traditional philosophy of “Karma” with modern digital governance to establish a new educational standard in the region.<\/span><\/p>\n
