General Library Rules

Entrance Inside Library
1.Only registered members are allowed to use the Library. Students and Faculty members always carry their Identity cards while using the Central Library.

2.It is compulsory to scanned from Biometrics machine before coming in the library
3.Outsiders are not permissible in the library for reading without higher authority permission.
4.It is obligatory for all students that before entering in the library they must put their attendance in the entrance/exit counter register.
5.Every staff/ student of the University is eligible for membership of the GU Central Library.
6.In the library premises, Mobile phones must be kept in silent mode.

BOOK BORROWING FACILITY

Book borrowing facilitates through Automated circulation system with Barcode facility

Book Loans: Only Registered members are permitted to have access of libray books. The following table provides borrowing privileges for various categories of members and various types of collections. Entitlement for number of books to be borrowed and loan period.

Circulation Counter

Issue/Return timings- 9.00 am to 4.00 pm

(Monday to Saturday)
Circulation Rules:

  •  Borrowing facilities are available only against the Identity Card cum Library card
  • On presenting the Identity card, Books can be issued rom the circulation counter.
  • It is essential that books should be retrunback book as per due date period otherwise
    the student/user will be indicted fine as per Geeta University Fine Policy.
  • If a student loses a book, they have the option to replace it with the same or latest
    edition. Additionally, they are required to pay the late fine as applicable.
  • Students should return the book borrowed from the library before they proceed on long leave (end semester) to avoid payment of a fine beyond the issue date
  • Books once issued, should not be brought inside, unless it is to be returned.
  • Books cannot be returned on the same day when these are issued More than one book of the similar author/title and same edition at one time cannot be issued.  Any book/publication can be recall at anytime to meet any urgent requirement Overdue Charges
  • It is compulsory for any users that they must returned their borrowing materials
    before the due date. For the delayed period late overdue fine will be charged.  If the due date falls on holidays, book can be return on the following working day without any late fee. Absence & illness are not acceptable excuses for exemption


from paying overdue charges.

  • Library Books Care
    Students should knows. the importance of treating library resources with care and prohibits actions such as highlighting, tearing pages, or any form of mutilation.
  • Under No dues policy emphasizes the requirement for individuals to clear all their responsibilities with the library before being eligible to receive a "no dues" certificate.

Reference Section

  • This segment deals in reference books like Dictionaries, Textbooks-cum Reference
    books, Project Reports, Seminar and other Books. These documents can be use only in library premises (Photocopy permitted for Reference purpose only).

General Library Rules

  •  Personal belongings should be kept in the racks provided at the entrance. Do not keep
    any precious items in the bags kept at the property counter.
  •  Students will not be permitted in the library premises without their library cum identity card. All library users must sign in/out in the registers available with the Librarian.
  • The members will be liable for any loss or non return of books issued to them.

Action for Non Compliance
a. Those who do not comply by the rules may be asked to depart from the university library by any member/library staff and their names will be forwarded to the University Disciplinary Board for further action.
b. He/She will be barred permanently from library may also be cancelled permanently if decided by authorities
c. Unauthorized removal of books or damaging the property of library or misbehavior with library staff shall be considered as an act of indiscipline, which will call for strict action and or fine.

Not with standing anything contained in these rules, the decision of the authorities of the University shall be final and binding on all members.
Any matter not covered by the above will be solely decided by the Registrar.
