Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria for admission to the Ph.D. Programme: The following are eligible to seek admission to the Ph.D. programme:

• (1) Candidates who have completed: A 1-year/2-semester master's degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme, or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme, or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed.
• (2) or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country, or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.

A candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme with research should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed.

• Foreign/NRI applicants: Applicants with a Master’s degree from a foreign university must apply with an equivalent certificate of AIU along with the Online Application Form.
• *PhD in Agriculture: As per ICAR guidelines

Admission Selection Criteria

• An Entrance Test will be conducted, followed by an interview. The Entrance Test syllabus shall consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% shall be subject-specific.
• An applicant will be shortlisted for an interview based on his/her score in the Ph.D entrance examination conducted by Geeta University. Students who have secured 50% marks in the entrance test are eligible to be called for the interview.
• The Final selection for Ph.D will be based on the performance in the Entrance Test (70% weightage) and interview (30% weightage).
• The applicant seeking Ph.D entrance examination exemption is also required to fill the Ph.D exam form and appear for the interview.

Exemption Criteria

• Candidates who have successfully cleared NET (UGC/CSIR), GATE, GPAT in the relevant field, shall be exempted from the Geeta University Ph.D. Entrance Test as per the validity of score/result mentioned in their certificate. They will be required to appear in the interview round only.
• For consideration of exemption, they must timely submit a scanned copy of the official certificate, along with the application form or via mail, but not later than two days prior to their entrance exam. Only exempted candidates will receive a message of exemption on their admission. Those who do not receive a message will be required to appear in Geeta University Ph.D. Entrance Test.

• Applicants are required to provide their CGPA or percentage of marks exactly as issued by their respective institute/university.
• Once the online application is submitted, it will be treated as final and binding. Requests for corrections or modifications will not be entertained after submission.
• Each application must be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1500/-.
